Who We Are

Dominican Advance is a registered 501(c)3 non profit charity. All donations, sponsorships, and gifts are tax deductible contributions for US tax payers.


Dominican Advance Executive Directors

Dr. Kim Pensinger
President, Board Chairman


In addition to directing the general affairs of Dominican Advance, Kim handles the promotion, communication, finances, and planning for the ministry. He oversees personnel and is responsible for the Web site, Scholarships for Champions monthly sponsor page, and AVANZA! – the e-Newsletter. Kim is also the International Director for Maranatha Ministerial Fellowship, International in the Dominican Republic
.

Josie Pensinger
Vice President, Board Member

Josie does almost all of the “hands on” operational work of Dominican Advance. From purchasing to teaching remedial reading at the school, she is actively involved in many aspects of the ministry. She does the primary follow up for the microbusiness program, provides oversight for many areas of the day-to-day operation of the Nazareth school, and is the Director of the Nutrition Program.

Scholarships for Champions Director

Philip Williams organizes and directs Dominican Advance mission teams and Donna is in charge of child sponsorship. In 2008, they were instrumental in securing a major donation to build the school fence. They have two sons, Jimmy, who lives with them in Sosua and, Scott, who is away at school in Nova Scotia.

Mike & Lori Friedman
Home Office

Mike and Lori Friedman are in charge of bookkeeping, mailing, organizing, and representing Dominican Advance in Vermont. The Friedmans visited the Dominican in October 2008 and live in Hinesburg, Vermont with their sons Caleb Joshua and Asa James.

Drs. Rick Callahan & Phyllis Callahan

Bishop Callahan is the Senior Pastor of Maranatha Christian Church (MCC) in Williston, Vermont, and President of Maranatha Ministerial Fellowship, Int (MMFI). Dr. Phyllis is a minister at MCC, and presents “Destiny Seminars” worldwide. The school in Nazareth is named in her honor. The Callahans personal ministry is Proceeding Word Ministries, Inc. The Callahans have been Kim & Josie's pastors for over 10 years.

Pastors Joe & Tammy Calloway

Joe and Tammy Calloway are the Senior Pastors of Grace Walk Community Church in the greater Phoenix, AZ area. They are long time friends and counselors of the Pensingers and were instrumental is helping with the vision of Dominican Advance. The Calloways have more than 30 years of experience in pastoring and church planting, including 7 years of missionary service in Kenya.

Ed & Marty Wilbur

Ed and Marty Wilbur live in Burlington, Vermont and have a great love for the island of Hispaniola. They have led numerous mission trips to both the Dominican Republic and Haiti. It was Ed Wilbur’s persistence and encouragement that first brought Kim to the Dominican Republic in November of 2004.
